Carnelian

Carnelian is a variety of Chalcedony found in many parts of the world including Brazil, India, Madagascar, Botswana, and Russia.  The appearance of Carnelian varies from a vibrant deep orange to a yellow creamy translucent colour.

Historically Carnelian dates back as far as the Egyptians who prized this stone for its protective qualities, the Egyptians associated Carnelian with the Sun and Ra the Sun God.

Carnelian resonates with the Sacral Chakra increasing ambition, drive, and confidence.  It is believed to calm the angry and envious and protect the wearer against negative emotions.

It is also reputed to bring about warmth, sociability, creativity, and happiness and to restore self-esteem.

Physically Carnelian is believed to stimulate the female sexual organs and increase fertility, stimulate the metabolism, regulate the kidneys and ease lower back pain.

Placed near the front door Carnelian is said to invoke protection and to bring abundance into the home.

Placing a Carnelian in a bag with other crystals will re-energise and cleanse them.
